The pool has two indoor, 6-lane, 25-meter competition pools with anti-wave lane dividers and electronic time measurement. A third (instruction) pool is available for warm up and cool-down. Should you from time to time simply feel like splashing about in the water then there is the Aquadrome. For relaxation and sunbathing you can use the lawn outside. Locker rooms are available for both men and women with approximately 250 lockers. The swimming pool does not have too much space around the basins. We kindly ask you to leave your luggage in the lockers or in the guarded wardrobe container, right next to the pool entrance. Please take as little as possible with you into the pool. Snacks and beverages are available from vending machines and in the restaurant. |

Musical Performance
On Friday during the break there will be a musical Performance. We do not tell more, experience it yourself.
Buffet & Aquaparty
On Friday there will be a great buffet and aquaparty in the aquadrome of the swimming pool. On one of the longest days in Holland we will host you with nice food in an atmosphere of the 1001 nights of Scheherazade. The buffet will open when the swimming competition is finished. So you can be sure to catch up on the cabs you lost in the swimming pool! For this event you need a ticket !

Synchronised Swimming Contest
On Saturday during the break there will be a small size Synchronised Swimming competition. Teams from Berlin, Amsterdam and Frankfurt will show their best in 10 minutes each. Both a professional and public jury will give their votes.
Drag-Queen Relay
Saturday, at the end of the day there will be a 4 x 25 m Drag queen-relay. Due to time restrictions, the drag queen relay will be limited to 3 heats of 6 lanes on a first-received basis. Each swim club can participate with only 1 drag team. The theme is 'Thousand and One Nights'. There will be a prize for the most breathtaking performance. It is not allowed to use objects or clothes that will pollute the water.

Rules |
Standards
The meet will be held according to international standards for Masters and Koninklijke Nederlandse Zwembond (KNZB) rules. The KNZB is affiliated to Féderation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA ).
Participation
The tournament is open to all swimmers aged 18 years and over as of 17 June 2005. Age on 31 December 2005 will determine age groups. Every participant is required to have a valid swimming license from a FINA-affiliated swimming-federation. Swimmers without a licence can request the organisation for a so-called day-licence. This category of swimmers is not allowed to swim relays with licensed swimmers.
Seeding
Nearly 600 swimmers from all over Europe will start 2200 times. The competition is held simultaneously in two 25-meter basins in the same swimming pool. All odd heats will be swum in basin number one (1). All even heats will be swum in basin number two (2). The starts of the series will be synchronised as much as possible. The allocation to the individual races will be made exclusively according to the times supplied at registration. Those with the slowest times, regardless of age groups, start earliest.
Relays
Relay teams can only exist of members from the same club. In mixed relay teams two women and two men take part. They may swim in any order. The final nominations for the relay teams must be handed in on the morning of the day of competition. Swimmers with a day licence cannot be in the same relay team as swimmers with a normal licence. Relay event age groups are as follows: under 99, 100-119, 120-159, 160-199, 200-239, etc.
Starting Procedure
Before your start you pick up your starting cards at the starting table next to the pool in which you are swimming. When your heat is on you hand the card over to the official who is controlling the lane in which you are swimming. When your heat is on a speaker will call for you. After you have swum your race your card will be handed over to the jury be an official.We will use the German starting method: This means you will have to stay in the water until the next heat has started. When you leave the water, please try not to touch the boards of the electronic time registration.
Timekeeping
Timekeeping is done electronically. When the electronic equipment in some way does not work properly, timekeeping will be done by hand. For the 800 and 1500 meter events timekeeping will be done by hand.
Protest
Protests should be submitted in writing and on clubs paper to the Tournament Director.
Changes
The Organising Committee of the swim tournament reserves the right to change the program of the meet if necessary, including the swimming events, locations and times. Participants will be notified of any changes as soon as possible.

Medals |
Swimmers who achieve one of the first three places in their age group (18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,65-69, etc) will be awarded a medal. Medals will be handed out in the pool entrance hall. There will be a ceremony protocolaire for the relays only. |
Participant's Requirements |
Insurance is the responsibility of the participant. By registering you acknowledge that EuroGames Utrecht 2005 and the tournament organisation individually are not liable for any damage that may occur to your person or property as a result of your attendance at or participation in the tournament and associated events. By registering you declare that you are physically fit enough to participate. Competition passes should be brought to the "Aquacenter", and we reserve the right to inspect these. |
Special Needs |
The EuroGames encourage swimmers with special needs to take part in the competitions. As with all swimmers, allocation to the individual races will be made exclusively according to the times supplied at registration. Starting with the help of assistants is permitted. Participants are allowed to start in the water. The evaluation will be made according to age group, but without differentiating according to degree or type of disablement. |
Additional Information |
Wearing outdoor shoes is not allowed in the area of the swimming pools. A € 1-coin will be required for the clothing lockers. The organisation takes no responsibility for theft or accident. Therefore: leave your valuables at home as far as possible! (Please do not forget your participant's identification for the EuroGames.) |
