Patsy Party

By: Welmoed de Lang

Hand reader Isabel read countless hands at Friday night's party named Patsy: "Not one of them is the same. No hand can be compared with the other. Just like no person can be compared with the other."

All sorts of women found each other in Club Monza Friday night. Athletes from the EuroGames 2005, women joining after the Midzomergracht Festival and women coming from all over Holland just to join this all women party.
One of the organizers Gret te Stroete: "This is the first time we organized this and nearly all 800 tickets were sold out. The 10 months we put in this non-profit project have really paid off."

The women danced to the music of a variety of DJ's in three different halls in what used to be an old movie theatre. In the big hall Miss Monica, supported by the voices of MC Miss Bunty and Lilian Viera, stirred up the crowd with her base drones. In hall 2 DJ Eva en DJ 2 Left Hands were responsible for an R&B sound.
And Boudine and Bente of Slagerij Van Kampen worked the different halls with short inspiring drum sessions on two iron barrels.

For people who got enough of the stamping base in the other halls; DJ Joda gave hall 3 the feel of a lounge cafe. Hall 3 was also were hand reader Isabel had her seat. She had trouble processing the many hands she had read.
Isabel: "It's impossible to find similarity in all those hands. Just like people, every hand is unique. That's nature and that's what I like about it. Every hand has its own potential. What people do with that lays literally in their own hands. And no I am sorry, I can' t see in their hands whether people are gay or lesbian."
Most of the woman didn't leave Patsy until the morning sun coloured the clouds in the sky with a purplish red.
